Mobile bunds for containers and drums

In many industries, companies regularly handle liquids that are hazardous to the environment. Safety equipment is essential to prevent pollution. That is where mobile bunds for containers and drums come in.

Mobile bunds confine liquids stored in containers or drums. They protect the environment in the event of a leak or accidental spill. They are available in different sizes and shapes to match each site.

They are made from high-quality materials, often galvanised steel or high-density polyethylene, for optimum chemical resistance. They can be moved as needed: warehouses, plants, construction sites or any other place where hazardous liquids are handled.

Their main advantage is containing spills quickly and effectively. Raised edges stop liquids from spreading. They help sites comply with environmental regulations.

Regulations on the storage of hazardous products

For the storage of polluting and hazardous products, the regulations are mandatory.

Extract from the Official Journal of 2 February 1998 (update of the decree of 1 March 1993)

Article 10 — Any storage of a liquid liable to pollute water or soil must be associated with a retention capacity equal to the greater of:

  • 100 % of the capacity of the largest tank
  • 50 % of the capacity of the associated tanks

This does not apply to wastewater treatment basins. For containers of 250 litres or less, retention must be at least 50 % of total drum capacity for flammable liquids (except lubricants), 20 % in other cases, and at least 800 litres or the total capacity if lower. The bund must be leak-tight and chemically resistant. Incompatible products must not share the same bund.
